Youngsters cook up a treat for the local community
Work’s been a piece of cake this week for our youth co-ordinator when he was involved in a scheme that involved youngsters producing hundreds of cupcakes that were distributed to deserving members of the community.
Cramlington Town Council’s Dan Straughan teamed up with Leading Link and Bedlington Together to take the ingredients to youngsters at East Hartford Community Centre and Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project.
At East Hartford the youngsters took part in a zoom cook-along where they were offered advice and support with the baking.
Half the cakes were then distributed to key-workers, carers, parents and elderly members of the community. The other half were left for the youngsters to enjoy – yum yum!
