Cramlington’s Pump Track Officially Opens to Hundreds of Visitors

Cramlington Town Council is delighted to report that the official opening of the new Pump Track at Alexandra Park took place on Wednesday 27th May, and was met with an outstanding response from the local community.

An estimated 500 people visited the Activity Zone throughout the day, making it a hugely successful event and a fantastic celebration of this new facility for residents of all ages and abilities.

The pump track was officially opened by the Cramlington Town Mayor, Helen Morris, who said “I am delighted, to be here to officially open this fantastic new pump track – a truly exciting addition to the Alexandra Park Activity Zone, made possible through funding from Cramlington Town Council. This is exactly the kind of investment our community deserves, and I hope it will be enjoyed by riders of all ages and abilities for many years to come.”

The Council would also like to express their gratitude to staff from Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project, who attended the event with the Bus4Us and contributed greatly to the atmosphere by providing games and snacks for those in attendance.

The Council wishes to acknowledge that the BMX riders who had been arranged to demonstrate their skills on the track were unfortunately unable to attend at the last minute. We apologise for any disappointment this may have caused and hope that all those who attended still enjoyed the day and the new facility.

The pump track is now officially open and available for all to enjoy. Cramlington Town Council looks forward to seeing residents make full use of this exciting new addition to Alexandra Park.
