Community Engagement
Community engagement is based on the conversations we have with people about decisions that affect them. It is about providing opportunities for people to have a say in designing, influencing or reviewing activities and services that involve Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Team.
The Team are committed to engaging with Cramlington’s community groups, businesses and individuals. This is achieved in various ways including;-
Generating public recognition and acknowledgement of the fantastic things going on within our town. This involves case studies, awards, multi agency showcase events, social media promotion and the events calendar and directory on our website.
We talk and listen to our communities. We establish ways to continue conversations enabling communities to have a voice and to be listened to, and be actively involved in planning, design, implementation and evaluation of community initiatives.
Partnership working is at the heart of the agenda for community engagement.
Although we do not provide any direct delivery ourselves, we work closely with the people and organisations who do. By investing in our communities we focus on cultivating the conditions which allow people to flourish and then identify and take action on the issues that are most important to them.
Our ambitions
To generate community-led social networks and collaborations;
To develop new collaborations and co-produce new initiatives;
To create community initiatives that actively support and promote good mental health;
To empower community leaders who effectively support the community they represent;
To effect community-led action plans;
To promote integration, interaction and a sense of belonging and community.
To increase the range of community activity, volunteering opportunities and increased communication on the existing opportunities available.
The Community & Youth Team are striving to do all we can to make Cramlington a safer, healthier, happier place for all.
